But we’ve never been all that big on artificial stuff down here.
That’s why Tourism Tasmania launched TasmanAi - an image generator that used real Tasmanian artists to transform prompts from the public into real pieces of art.
Collaborating with 9 Tasmanian artists, Tourism Tasmania received over 5,000 prompts from around the world. But while entries have closed, inspiration’s never too far away.
With the art made over time, not with the click of a mouse, TasmanAi shows the world that instant isn’t always better. There is joy in slowing down, taking time to think and celebrating craftsmanship — all of which are intrinsic to the Tasmanian way of life and keenly felt by anyone visiting the island.
Come find out for yourself when you visit Launceston Airport before the end of November 2025. Four artworks are on display just after security.
